PRESS RELEASE: IN THE LIFE OF MUSIC PRODUCTION BEGINS!

“In the Life of Music Film Launch” is a private event in celebration of the upcoming production of a feature film “In the Life of Music,” to be shot in Cambodia. It will take place on Friday, January 15th, from 6 – 10 pm at the HOU at Mito Lounge.

The feature film consists of three chapters spanning three generations depicting three different worlds, changed by a song, and will run around 90 minutes.  The central theme song is “Champa Battambang,” made famous by Sinn Sisamouth (considered the King of Khmer Music), depicting the lives of people whose world is inevitably transformed by war. It is a powerful intergenerational tale that weaves through 40 years of Cambodia’s ever-changing landscape.

The beauty of the song is that it is a metaphor about Battambang, a romantic ballad about true love, family life, nature, and the countryside, and is open to various interpretations. The song begins: “Oh Battambang the center of my heart, it is hard to say goodbye…”

The movie is being produced by Caylee So and Neardey Trinh, co-founders of Innovision Pictures and is slated to be a two-director platform. This will mark the first collaboration of directors Caylee So (Co-founder of Cambodia Town Film Festival and Innovision Pictures) and Sok Visal (Director at 802AD Productions and Producer of KlapYaHandz music label).

The feature film has also enjoyed sponsorship by CAMBODIA TOWN FILM FESTIVALiTHINKASIACAMWERKZThe ORPHANAGE Productions, ENGINEERED BY REMY, SABAY DIGITAL CORP, AND MITO HOTEL.
